Umm... How old is your daughter? How did she do all this? And is education an option for her?

Wow...

Looks like time to lock down the Admin controls on all PCs not directly used by her so that the daughter can't keep doing this.

Also, this is another good reason why I keep backup copies of my "clean system" just in case I have to start over to wipe away "issues" that seem to have no other good solution.

Aww, that sucks reno. BTW how is she after that accident? Hope ok. Just teach her how to prevent the mishaps and maybe it will reduce the chances of problems later.

My little 2 year old niece tried to plug something into the tower of my new HP (just 4 months old and cost me $2,000+) and now the damn thing won't boot up, keeps saying the hard drive is missing or something, I think it's burned up, (don't know why the accessory jacks are in the front anyway). Anyway what can you do? I just had to tell her not to put anything in front.

Well, she's my little baby, and the HP is just a piece of electronics. Oh well.

Update on this. Just bought a Seagate 500 GB hardrive, (Only $160 with the three year instant exchange), and had my brother install and I'm back in business.

Been without my HP for about two months.

if it was the drive and the computer was only 4 months old you should of been able to get a free replacement from hp .unless this was a refurb. they only offer 90 days on them .
i go looking into this you maybe able to it covered !!

Maybe she should take a course on how to operate a computer.

Then "make" her take a course in repairing them.

Lat but not least - after she completes her courses make her BUY you a new one!

Sounds good to me!
