SSSS: losing pictures
I just got home from a trip to Costa Rica, took about 700+ pictures. I wanted to take a look at them, and so I copied them from the SD card to my hard drive. however, somehow, i must have done something wrong, b/c after file #200, it stopped showing the thumbnails. when i try to open it with photoshop, it says it's corrupted or something.
i'm soooo upset right now. please...is there anything positive anyone can help me with?! |

DON'T DO ANYTHING TO THE CARD!! Don't format it & don't write to it. There's a good chance that you can recover your pics.
Here's a recovery tool specifically for photo cards that I've used successfully in the past. Download the trial & then buy the full version if it looks like it'll recover them. |

i just copied/pasted straight from the disk reader
from reading lots of forums, i think it has something to do with my buffer not being able to to keep up with so many pix being copied at once. i think it somehow overwritten the rest.     |

Woot!
Turns out it was my card reader that was faulty. And thanx to Jeffbx's suggestion, I bought that program and it was able to recover almost all the pictures. WHEWWWW! |
