i just got hit with a bounced check fee. i have not used paypal in so long that i had the wrong bank account listed with it . it was listed with my credit union account . and my luck the last 4 didgets of the old banking card no .just happen to be the same as the newest card i got from my bank. so when bought a item last week off ebay . i went to check out and thought no problem , well yesterday i get a email from paypal saying the bank rejected the sale . then about 1 hour later i go to my mail box and sure enough there a letter from my old credit union asking for $$$$ for a bounced check fee .
the part that tossed me for a loop is i checked my new bank account. was wondering why there was no withdraw made for this sale yet. with all the bs i have read and heard about miss use of paypal . im sure they sent me e-mails to update my account but i just deleted them thinking it was a spammer. i have and did update the credit card before but never updated my checking account info with paypal . so now im paying the price for my error .and its a costly mistake . and calling paypal is a 50/50 shot you get a true english speaking person . and there answer to this problem was . we are setup so the billing go's though twice and then if the sale bounces the second time. then we use your credit card you supplyed us with. and there is not a thing they could do to change anything. so as of right now im not sure if im going to get hit a second time with bounce check fees .or my updating my info yesterday online will save me. i only keep the credit union account open for that rare time im in there area and i need to cash a clients check . that is made out to my companys name and not my personal and i need cash fast to do there job or start a new one . we still use this credit union for the home account do .
