They have to ****ing infest everything! I get home from a movie and get a message on icq. open it up like normal and what do i see? A ****ing banner ad at the bottom of the ****ing message! As soon as i saw that it made my blood boil. I feel like bombing aol for the sins they have commited!

When will the ****ing marketers learn that PEOPLE HATE BANNER ADS! It's like a virus that spreads without a cure. pretty soon there will be banner ads on everything you see. you goto watch a movie and, hey look, you can pre buy the dvd for a low low price! oh joy! oh, wait... NO!

here is my proposal, kill any who says, "lets put a banner ad on that."

Note: If you found this offensive, good.

that picture was made by my neighbors friend, but if you cut of everything but the top most banner ad, it'll look the same.
But, it just appeared one day just like the icq sms button did. did we ask for them to change the program on our computer? NO! Did we ask for an crapgrade (or "upgrade"), HELL NO! they changed it without our permission! I'm seriously getting pissed at aol.

if icq wasn't doing enough...

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/cn/2001...web_ads_1.html

Quote:
An online advertising trade group on Monday plans to unveil standards for bigger Web advertisements as it seeks to breathe new life into the battered industry.

The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) said it is issuing voluntary standards for seven new ad units, mostly offering advertisers more real estate to promote their wares on Web sites.

"There's a widespread understanding in the industry that we need bigger sizes to help the advertisers, clients and marketers get a better message across and use the capability of interactivity in the medium," said Richy Glassberg, vice chairman of the IAB and chief executive of Phase2Media.

pretty soon you won't be able to see the webpage at all and websites will be just big ol' billboards
