Please be careful with what you say.

I examined both of the articles you referenced and neither showed evidence of "scam" but rather of poor customer service and bad record keeping.

In the first link, the user's problem seemed to be with the shipping company/his residence. CyberRebate (at least in the past) used UPS and he should deal with them. Granted, many other companies are more helpful than CyberRebate in this regard, but they are under no legal requirement to be.

In the second set of articles, people make complaints and then it seems that they don't write followups. Was the guy who wrote in October ever satisfied? If not, what did he do? If he was, what did it take?

I am not a fan of CyberRebate and I think their business plan is unworkable, but I did shop there once and after much struggle (and some help from Apex) I got all my money.

If you don't think they are worthwhile, don't shop there. Just don't automatically call something a fraud if you think their service is bad.

a big part of their business model is making it a hassle to get the rebate. so you keep copies of everything, and follow up on any problems promptly. they want you to give up. i have spent over $2000 and gotten every penny of it back. they do not try to cheat you (in my experience), they just don't offer to help you much along the way through a purposefully convoluted rebate process.... NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, but not a scam. and, frankly, they have better cs than a lot of "legit" places.

maybe i was incorrect about calling them a scam if that is such an issue to you, but I am just warning people about the high possibility of running into problems with them...is it so bad to warn people so they don't get ripped off?

Have you had a problem with them. Why do you feel so intent on trouncing the company. Read some threads on this topic, and maybe you'll understand where welfareloser & TheLoneGunman is coming from.

Let's pretend that we were dealing with a company that you liked and respected.

Let's say that this company offered to sell you a $25 item for $500 and that they promised to give you back your full $500 in 3-4 months. The only catch was that you had to complete a fairly complicated series of steps within a short period to get the rebate.

Would you still do it?

If yes, then perhaps you avoid CyberRebate based on the greater risk and worse customer service. (At the same time, realize that "rock solid" companies like EToys and Reel.com came and went and CyberRebate is still around).

If no, then this type of deal is not for you (I am in this category) and it has nothing to do with CyberRebate, just with the business type.

I've ordered over $11,000 worth of stuff from theses folks. So far I've received every rebate. I have had a couple of problems, but they were resolved to my satisfaction. In fact after dealing with their customer service I do like and respect them.

Their rebate process is a bit involved, but I have it down to a science.

My only concern is that they go bankrupt while I have a rebate pending, so I no longer have more outstanding than I'm willing to lose.

Angry RIPPED ME OFF TOO!

THEY RIPPED ME OFF FOR $34.99 TOO! They sent my $34.99 dog bark/stop coller to the wrong address and When I went to cancel, They said we don't do that. So I asked them to reroute it, they said Oh we can't go back there and pull out one order,,,tooo bad. You lose! no package no collar and a CHARGE to my debit card for 34.99. I called the debit card and they said there was nothing they would do either./ UPS said they wouldnt re route too. but I could pay them to go pick it up and resend it. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! FL@@@K THEM!

not a huge doller loss but indead a hugh slap in the face from CYBERREBATE!!!

Are you saying that CR sent it to the wrong address? Or did you give them the wrong address? Something smells fishy here.

That's why I always use a credit card instead of a debit card, they're legally obliged to back you up in disputes. Unless you have terrible credit and can't get a credit card, or you can't manage your personal finances, I can't see any reason to ever use a debit card, and I don't.

I've only risked a few hundred with cyberrebate, but I've got every penny back. It does take a LONG time to get the rebates, but they do eventually payoff. I agree, a credit card on the web is a must! I check my account several times a week, but that is unnecessary, just reconcile at statement time. You have several months to complain, and always complain in writing.

Actually I like Cyber rebate. Being a college student, I only work during the holiday breaks (full time). I tend to order a lot of stuff arund then, cause thats when i have the $$$, then 4 months later when im starting to go broke I get a nice present in the mail (i alos tend to forget about the rebate, hence it being a present).



Oh BTW, I did have one problem with them, I forgot to include the reciept in one of the envelopes, and they were more than helpful. (they printed up a second copy for themselves)

They are not a scam and I don't see what is soooo difficult to print and fill out rebate forms. They have a one page form for each product you order and most of the questions on the form are asking what your address is. Include only one rebate, one copy of your receipt, and one upc symbol from the product in your envelope and in 10-14 weeks they send you your money. What is so difficult about that?

I too have spent a lot of money (over 20k) at their site and received a lot of free stuff shipped to me for free AND, by using either one of the links in my signature, I received over $1,300 in rebate checks from them on top of my original 20k back!

I do agree, however, it is a good idea to space out your orders so you don't have a large amount of money invested in them for long periods of time.
