I ordered a package from the east coast and it got all the way to Salt Lake City until some genius sent it back to DES MOINES, IA.

Hahaha!

I knew a guy who was trying to mail something from Michigan to Kansas, and the post office returned it to him saying insufficient postage to mail it to Canada...

hehe. my friend was having a packaged shipped here to osu via ups ground. a few days later he got an email saying ups ground cannot ship to hawaii on the truck so if he wanted it he would have to pay for air shipping. I'm thinking they just wanted a cheap vacation.

I'm also having a problem with UPS right now. I bought 4 beautiful rims the shipped via UPS. The tracking numbers showed progress at the first two days then it just totally stopped. They were in transit to L.A., California. Where are my rims?!

There might be something wrong with UPS's tracking information (I'm assuming you're talking about the tracking service on their website). I've a package from AccessMicro that was shipped Feb 28, and there's been no additional information added since Mar 1.

I've been using nothing but UPS when I buy or ship stuffs. They were reliable and delievered items in a very timely manner. This is the first time I encounter the problem with them. I purchased 4 rims from Houston, Texas and had them shipped to Los Angeles, California. There is no snow storm in either Texas or California, or even anything in between. I wonder why they are having problem with shipping.

U(believably) P(oor) S(ervice). I had vacation tickets sent from a travel agent in CA to PA via overnight air. Next day no tickets, I ran the tracking number, they were in PA but not anywhere close to me. Couple days later, they are back in CA. Few more days, they are back in PA, then back in CA again! Talk about getting freaked now! I was supposed to leave in a couple days and called the travel agent. They went ahead and changed me to e-tickets so I would not have a problem. The tickets arrived the day before I left, but then got lost in routing in my office! Mind you this was almost 3 weeks after the delivery date, sent via overnight air. I hate UPS, and avoid using them even if it means paying more on a website to not have something shipped by them.

While we're on the subject of recieving things. I've finally gotten my free copy of Win2k from Microsoft for filling out that survey on Frontpage.

It took 'em long enough.

Why do most people insit on shipping ups, ill admit for expensive stuff i usually goto them, but i've never had a problem with the USPS. Packages always are recieved in a timely matter, and usually cheaper than the UPS

I agree - I like USPS, with one exception. If the package is too big, you just get that damn little pink slip and you have to haul your butt down to the post office to pick up your goods.

I've had enough with USPS. So far they have lost so many mails and it starts to piss me off seriously.

Even though I hate UPS and I've had the bad experience I listed above with them, I do like their web shipping. You can put in the dimensions and weight of an item you want to ship, pay for the shipping with credit card, and print out the shipping label with tracking number and have them come pick it up at your house for a very small charge. I just shipped an entire computer half way across the country for $28 with door pickup at my place. You can even order "supplies" for free, the sticky shipping labels, pouches for packing lists, etc..

When I sold my old wheels off my car I didn't realize that they had this, and I paid Mail Boxes Etc. $140 to ship them from PA to MA. Someone else I know shipped the same size wheels/tires from CA to NY for $60 with the UPS online shipping.

So now for big items instead of lugging them into the post office, I will be shipping them that way.

I have an RMA for a DC inverter for my laptop, I priced that out last night also, it was $6.50 through the UPS site, USPS will probably be half that.

My address was correctly written on the invoice and BOX but they decided to have a woman at a TOTALLY WRONG address sign for it!

Red face

{worries about his whitebox Voodoo 5 coming from California}

A couple of the packages I've gotten in the past and tracked have gone on the most convoluted route possible. Call it the scenic tour of America.
