I am getting royally screwed with the amount of money I have to pay to take this damn California Bar exam. Not only have I spent over $60,000 just on school, but now I have had to shell out over $2300 for Barbri (a necessary bar review course, without which you basically have no chance of passing), and $700 or more for a MBE review (highly suggested to pass). Total: $63,000
Then I have to shell out $102 for registering as a law student in California (late), $447 for the actual exam including a $60 typing fee, $316 for a moral character determination, plus I had to pay $90 for a MPRE a while back. Total: $955 (not including other misc. fees. And with the exception of the MPRE which I already killed, there is a chance that I wont pass and I would have to pay all of that again!!!! Its bad enough that I have to pay $60,000 for school, let alone the extra $3000 (minimum) to "refresh" my memory (reteach) of the law, as law school apparently doenst teach you to pass the bar. But then to have to pay close to a grand to take a board! And California has some of the lowest passage rates in the damn country! ARRGGHHH, all this just to become licensed as an attorney, and I still dont have a job!!!!!!! And everyone hates what I am going to do. Just had to vent. |

Why not find a job before taking the bar exam as a clerk, or whatever you call 'em? I'm quite sure that some law firms would hire fresh-grads who're in the process of taking the bar exam.

Yeah, i don't want to heat about it. I'm still paying on my wife's master's program that cost $50,000 and she only makes $34,000 as a teacher!
