I do some work for (unnamed company). Recently my billings have precipitously dropped due to both the economy and changes to their compensation program. For the second month in a row, they ran a big contest where first prize was about equal to what I used to make. I pointed out at the begining of the month that there were some problems with their recordkeeping that would skew the results. They responded rudely, but admitted the problem. Now, at the end of the month (but before the winners were announced), I renewed my objections, this time to a member of the senior staff. I explained that if I lost, I could potentially sue and then their exposure would be much greater than if they just gave me first place money. They seemed very outraged that I could suggest such a thing.

Well... I just looked in my account and I have the first place money!

Unfortunately for them, just like in prison, when you back down from one fight, you become that person's "bitch" and so I think I might instinctively have to do that to this company for a little while. Oh well, beats having a real job.

I got 2 letters in the mail today. Ha.
