For those of you who are unaware, http://www.dvdrentalcentral.com
is a netflix competitor which offers unlimited rental of DVD's for $19.95 a month, but instead of 3 movies out at a time dvdrentalcentral allows 5 movies out at a time. I became a customer of DVD Rental Central on June 2, 2001. I have been shipped only ONE movie from my movie list as of June 7, 2001. After leaving 2 messages on DVD Rental Central's phone answering service and sending one email to customer support, I received a call from a customer representative on June 7, 2001. I expressed concern over this manner and was informed that I would eventually receive 4 other movies from my movie list, but the service representative was unable to inform me as to when this would occur. I even joked about it taking perhaps a month, she didn't laugh. I have 29 movies in my movie list and apparently every one is out of stock or DVD Rental Central simply will not send me my other 4 movies. The woman on the phone had no explanation, she said I just had to wait. |

Netflix started to have a supply problem as well, but at least they now list the estimated wait time so you can restructure your list.
Also, they seem to have a lot more available now. At the same time, it is fairly easy to get lulled into not renting for a few weeks (if you have massive cable like I do) and so it is not as worthwhile (but that has nothing to do with the deal)

I started using http://www.Rentmydvd.com and they are great so far. I get emails when the receive my returns and when they shipped the new ones (always on the same day). They have a 2 DVD plan for $14 which works good for me since their are only about 2 new movies a week that come out that I care to see.
