I found out that my value to them as a customer is less than $2.50.
Last week I pre-ordered Unbreakable on DVD from buy.com for $20.49. On the 24th, 2 days before the scheduled release date, I noticed they had dropped the price to $17.99. I e-mailed their customer service and asked for the lower price, they responed saying no, I wasn't elegible they have instituted a 3 day price match policy and only for certain catagories of items. "Our system can only change the price of a product through a price match which, unfortunately, your purchase is not eligible for. If you would like to receive this product for the discounted price, it will be necessary to return the product you have received and place another order at the lower price." -minus, of course your shipping there and back. Their new policy is only to handle customer service via e-mail only. I can't even call and reason with someone. I just get canned e-mails back from them when I try to argue my case. I think I an being reasonable, I just want to pay the same price as others who pre-ordered the same DVD. I didn't use a coupon or get free shipping on it, I just wanted the DVD as soon as it was out, I really enjoyed the movie and wanted to watch it again. (Yes, I know if I was using the AMEX Blue this wouldn't be a problem). buy.com has a BS pricematching policy, they won't even give you a lowered price when they change it BEFORE YOU RECEIVE YOUR PRODUCT! buy.com no longer has any real form of customer service. I hearby withdraw any previous recomendations I have made for buy.com. I feel they are no longer a reliable internet retailer. I consider their business practices to be questionable. |
