There are been MAJOR problems with Hotmail the past few days and MS has been trying to suppress the news. It only affects about 1/3 of the users, but it still is very serious.

I have 3 addresses and my primary "work" address is the one that is hosed (and has been hosed in the past too).

This completely sucks.

Thumbs down

I use hotmail, and three or four days out of the past week, I haven't been receiving e-mails that my friends "swear they sent." Is this because of the problem you're talkin about? Then I think it's time to switch over to yahoo mail. I never liked the 2MB limit anyways....

I use Yahoo mail and love it. the limit is bigger and thier bulk mail (spam gaurd) works pretty well. not sure about the hotmail one.

Hell yeah. I'm switching over to Yahoo RIGHT now! I've had to delete precious past e-mails TWICE in the last week, because my hotmail "account size is too large." Damn bastards. I know it's free and everything, but what am I supposed to do with 2MBs???

because i was a "loyal longterm user" hotmail used to give me a 10 mb limit, back when everyone else on the service had the 1 mb lim going. Then one day, i got the "your accuont size is too large" and it said i had 7 mb of the 2 allowed...damn did that suck. So much for preferential treatment. I transferred all of the e-mails to other hotmail accounts...that i didn't visit often enough, so i lost them all anyway. Oh well...i still like the Hotmail interface.

True. The hotmail interface is nice looking, easy to use, and also pretty fast. Much better than Yahoo. But I just can't afford to lose any more e-mails... sad, but must go to Yahoo. Goodbye hotmail! I've enjoyed seeing you daily for the past 5 years...

the spamage...grrr

I really like hotmail's 'bulk mail' thing that they did. It filters out so much spam, but IT DOESN'T MATTER because I get so much spam for having a hotmail address. I create a new hotmail account, share it with nobody, but I still get spam (I especially hate the ones that tell me I can increase my penis size while I'm checking my hotmail account @ work). They must make so much money distributing e-mails or they must have weak protection for hackers to get these e-mail addresses...funny, cause I had a friend in college who was an admin for hotmail for a summer internship. HA a college kid, working as an intern being the admin for hotmail....they suck.

Lightbulb increase your hotmail account size

I haven't played around with it much but i think that it's 2 mb per folder. So just create more folders and spread the emails around. I've transferred files to folders before and stopped receiving "your account is too large" messages. worth a shot.

nope doesn't seem to work...
I organize my mail in more than 10 folders, and I still run into the 2MB memory limit all the time.

Update...
How do you all like the new look of Hotmail? Maybe the recent problems were related to the updating of this new interface...looks nice and all, but the 2MB limit is still there. You're gonna have to do better than that to bring me back MS!!

That freaky new look is gone again.

After I logged in twice, I no longer see it and it is back to the "old" look.

What is going on??
