Major S: Finding out you have to stay in school even longer..

Originally I was hoping to graduate from college in a year from now. After arranging my schedule for summer and fall for this year, I'm realizing that I got to take another full year of school before I can graduate. This is my 4th year of college already. The reason for this is because I wasn't able to add a vital class last semester, and this semester.. And in order to graduate in my major (MIS), I must take a whole bunch of classes in sequence.. I've got 18 more classes to take. Arg! And thats if I don't fail any classes..

oh, i don't work hard.. well, like the other thread said, Do Grades REALLY matter? I dont work for an A.. do 'nuf for a C, to pass the class.. anything else above that is a perk.

Man, after I'm done, I'll be the first student they name a building after.. Afterall, after that many years, I would have pretty much paid for the whole darn thing.

that sucks for you, but on the other hand, i hopefully WILL GRADUATE next spring ('03)!!

and what makes it sooo cool is the fact that i'm finishing my bachelors in two years.... i have an associate's degree, but in photography, and now i'm doing environmental science. so the fact that i'm going to be able to finish in just two years is unbelievable. all of my firends that went on after we graduated w/ our aas degree have taken at least 3 years, if not longer to finish their ba, and that is in the field that they got thier associates degree.

wahoo!

oh, and don't feel bad, i'll be 26 when i finish. and i feel like an old lady in most of my classes, but luckily, i look really young, so i blend in just fine.

yeah, probably Leon is abusing you because you said you didn't like the avatars

that's a funny rank.

although i did know one TRUE professional college student:
this dude went to my church when i was in college at MSU. he was around 50 (+/- 5 yrs). he was still in school, going for like his THIRD masters degree. he had actually taken a year or two off here and there and done stuff like going to korea to teach english (his speciality was Teaching English as a Second Language).

but basically, he had spent most of his life in college, getting a series of degrees. he tried to get a PHD and then changed his mind, then tried to get a phd again......you get the picture.

whatever the case, i think he's just going to keep going to school till he's 65 and then retire
