I had to go to lansing for a business dinner last night, which is about 65 miles from where I go to school. On the way down, my radar detector went off 3 times for LASER, and another 4 on the way back!!!

I used to get laser once in every 3 or 4 months, but in the last month, I get hit at least once on every trip over 30 miles that I take.

I need to slow down now. Cops suck.

i cruise the stretch between novi and lansing at least twice a week....usually 80-90 (depending on traffic), but i've never run into trouble with the cops.

No, I am up in mount pleasant during the weeks for school (I go to central) I came back up along 127. I have ben hit with lasers on 75, 696, and 127 for the most part. On m-59 they like to set on some of the overpasses with them as well, and get you with a second car further down the road.

Hahaha... half the roads I drive on aren't "certified" for radar use. Even if I cop did catch me speeding, he couldn't do anything about it... he'd have to pace me first.

Are radar detectors illegal in NY? I live in Queens and I commute to the Bronx everyday and I just got a 2001 Honda Prelude. I'm thinking about getting the Valentine 1 but I have to mount that sucker up by the mirror for it to be effective. Now if a pig sees that, will he confiscate it or do a Rodney King on me?

tthe only places in the us where they are illegal are west virginia and D.C. Most people think they are illegal and stuff, but thats just a popular myth. I get people asking me all the time about how I dont get caught with one while driving. I dont get caught with one because its not against the law for me to have it.

I think all cop cars that are on traffic duty should have a publicly identifyable beacon of some sot to notify a driver that a cop is in the area working traffic duty. The people should have more of a chance than they currently have with laser guns.

man, i had a radar detector till i was like 17, two got stolen and this last whistler, i've used like once. i haven't used my radar since 17, since then i havne't had a ticket, before that, with my radar, i got like 3. i think you learn to drive better and read teh traffic better. i don't even need a radar anymore...even though i average, 70/80 on a 55 limit highway. just learn where the speed traps are and read teh traffic. oh yea, this helps too, if you ever do happen to get pulled over for speeding...cops actually confirm that using this tactic works...most of the time
