Thumbs down Cruises for "minors"

I'm 20 years old and I want to go on a cruise with a couple of friends, but wait... I CAN'T. For some insanely stupid reason, adults under the age of 21 cannot travel unaccompanied on cruises. I am old enough to fight in a war. I am old enough to vote. I am old enough to be sentenced to death. I am old enough to hold (some) political offices. However, I am not allowed to travel alone on a cruise. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THE LOGIC?!?!

Really? When did they start that sillyness? I went on a cruise for spring break in my senior year of high school. OK, I admit, that was (more than) several years ago...

Is this specific to a particular cruise line, or a general rule?

What are you complaining about?!?!?!

The fact that you didn't get food poisoning or stomach flu? A few of those cruise ships have epidemics going on right now... wait for them to get it all straightened out before you go on them!

They have to draw the line somewhere dont they... BTW if your gonna use that logic then they are discriminating against 18-20 year olds not just 20 year olds.

I'm sure it's for legal and/or insurance reasons.

The insurance companies are getting really squishy about what they're willing to cover. And *everyone* is suing *everyone* these days, even when it's their own stupidity to blame.

I agree it's unfair.

I went on a cruise my sophmore year I think with my school, and it was a pain because we had to have an adult over 25 in our room, but then we were also a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds! But out director let us get around that by just saying the adult was in the room then they adults would be in rooms together.
But I know with carnival cruises you have to have someone in your room that is over 25 regardless.
