S: Order three stick of memory, all fail ram test
A couple days ago I ordered three PC133 256mb low density chips from DVCentury.com.
After not being able to get any of the three working in my friends HP pavillion (ASUS manu. motherboard), I thought it was the computer that just didn't like the chips. I've seen three dead sticks of memory in my life, and I've seen A LOT of ram being a former pc technician for the university and all, so I thought no way could all three sticks be dead. Sure enough, I go test the ram on an expensive memory tester, and THEY ALL FAIL, almost right away. They run okay at PC66, cas3, but bump them up to the pc133 cas3 they are rated for and they fail instantly. Bah. dvcentury.com. I'll keep you posted as to how they handle this.
