only going for a week but we're going to try to pack as much stuff into that week as possible. going to tokyo, yokohama, osaka, kyoto, kobe ... maybe more if there is time but i doubt it

Man, I haven't been there in a long time....almost 2 years already...since I studied abroad there at Waseda.
 In any case, I will be swinging by for a few hours at Narita (pronounced NA-rita) on the way to Taiwan on the 10th of July.  SAN-SFO-NRT-TPE ...ugh... maybe I'll do the business class thing on the way there....

I dont know if you have your arrangements made for those cities, but i got enough of the western city influence staying in tokyo, and kyoto and osaka are so very similar, lots of temples to see. Kyoto is a better place though, especially if you cant speak japanese. I was able to speak a good amount of english in kyoto. And night life is fun!! Spend two days, at least, in kyoto, if you can. kyoto is my 2nd favorite city (Hiroshima was my favorite Lived there for 2 months).

back from japan. it was so much fun. i only got 26 hrs of sleep the week i was there. was out every night and didn't sleep until the sun rose. the sun rises at 4am in japan. ^_^ ended up hitting all the cities i mentioned before. people in japan are so nice and friendly. i don't know any japanese except "excuse me" and that managed to get me around all week. ^_^
