SS: Car breakin
crappy start to the day today. i leave my apartment at 7:00 am and find the drivers window of my car laying in pieces all over my front seat and my stereo ripped out from the dash.
apparently some piece of **** punks hit the whole apartment complex. little bastards. of course, there was an absolute downpour, and i had to stand there picking glass shards out of the seat as my car got soaked. of course, the little fuggers couldn't even have the decency to break out the passenger's window, so my seat was soaked. have some respect, you little ass****s. i finally found a place that could get the glass in quickly and got the window fixed. that part was good -- they were fast, friendly, and they gave me a $50 discount off my deductable (which meant i only had to pay $50 ). as an added bonus, my window, which previously didn't work (it was a power window), is now operational.but then i got to work and discovered that before breaking the window, they had pried down the sheet metal under the door handle and stuck a jimmy in there to try to trigger the lock. not only did they damage the door, but the lock and the power lock switch no longer work. so i'm going to have MORE work done now ![]() and all this for a crappy, 4-year-old pioneer that cost maybe $250 new, which means it's worth maybe $75-$100 now. dumbasses. |

That does suck.....this is why you have to get faces that automatically roll back inside so it looks detached and wont work if detached from the car. You would have thought that the sound of so many cars getting busted into would have drawn some scrutiny and how were you the first one to discover that this had been done.
Either way, it could be worse. You could have a $500 deductible like me. ![]()

![]() but now i'm feeling like an alarm probably would have helped a lot. for them to break into that many cars w/out being heard, they must have been being pretty careful to avoid any with alarms. so the little flashing red light probabl would have made them go elsewhere ![]() |

Just get a large mean dog and leave it in your car. No need for an alarm!

People still steal radios? I thought after all of the anti-theft devices and the fact that you can get radios dirt cheap would keep the crackheads away.
I don't think they really did it for the radios, prolly some punks trying to look cool and look like they know what they're doing in front of each other. ![]()
