for CA drivers and vehicle owners (sorry for the cross post)

Sorry for the cross post! I already posted this in Automobile forum, but it should get more exposure here. Please don't move this, Apex!

As some of you may or may not know, the Davis administration has decided late last week that the only way to fix the budget crisis that they created is not by cutting government spending like the unnecessary 40,000 bureaucratic positions his administration has created, or the unnecessary "business" trips, and driving around in tax-payer funded Expeditions and Lincolns, but to raise the car registration fee. It's not being raised by a couple of dollars. Not even $20 dollars. It's being TRIPLED for current owners. The cost of registration for a new $29,000 car used to be about $172, but now will be $500! This will all take affect by October.

Our only option isn't just to bend over and take it because the DMV says so. There is something we can do. Visit http://www.tommcclintock.com/ to find out more. Government works for us, not the other way around.

I am not being paid by McClintock, some right-wing anti-Davis group or anyone else to do this. I am posting this because I don't want to pay triple to register my car every year when CA already has one of the highest vehicle registration fees in the nation. I hope many of you feel the same way. If you don't, you are more than welcome to volunteer to donate extra when your bill comes. I know there will be those who will disagree with me and this is not a thread for political debate so I will not respond to any replies for or against. I am just trying to get the word out that there are options available and you can learn more about those options at www.tommcclintock.com

Another thing, for those of you interested in a Recall Davis petition, visit www.rescuecalifornia.com. There have been fake petitions being circulated by Davis supporters to make people think that they've already signed.

Or you could go to http://www.davisrecall.com or you could contact your local representative, or you could start a letter writing campaign.

Arnold Schwarzenegger refuses to terminate rumors of a run for governor while promoting his latest movie, joking that: "You haven't seen special effects like this since the California state budget."
Quote:
During "The Tonight Show" taping, Leno suggested campaign slogans for the Austrian-accented actor as "Who better to represent a state where no one speaks English?" and "Not a good enough actor to fool you on taxes."

Schwarzenegger told Leno he is traveling to Iraq over the Fourth of July to screen his movie for U.S. troops.

"There is no money over there. There's no leadership — pretty much like California," he said.

While Schwarzenegger weighs whether he'll enter the governor's race, one current lawmaker with ties to the actor said he would not support the star.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., told the Boston Herald that he'd support the Democratic candidate over the "Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines" star.

Schwarzenegger is married to Kennedy's niece, broadcast journalist Maria Shriver.

"Listen, Arnold is great," Kennedy said. "And I never argue with Arnold, particularly when he's holding me by my ankles upside-down. But I intend to support the Democrat.
Some surprise by that pos Kennedy-he's a team democrap to the end.

"Holding Kennedy up by the ankles and dropping him on the head"

Opponents of the move to recall Gov. Gray Davis are asking their supporters to intimidate signature gatherers and complain of harassment at stores where recall petitions are circulating, stepping up the political battle taking place in front of Wal-Marts and Home Depots across California.

In an e-mail message and Internet posting titled "How to Advocate Against the Recall," Davis supporters were told, "It is OK to stand in front of their table or approach potential signers before they do, or otherwise inhibit their activity." The memo instructs people to say they are "offended by being harassed" and file complaints with managers of stores.

"Remember, the longer you engage them, the fewer signatures they can collect," said the memo distributed by Taxpayers Against the Governor's Recall, a union-funded group. The memo also includes a telephone hot line to report the location of recall petition circulators.
Bush Asked to Oppose Calif. Recall Effort
Quote:
The Stand for California Coalition, composed of labor unions, civil rights organizations, church groups and some business leaders, say the recall would further damage the state's weak economy. The coalition plans to use President Bush's scheduled visit to California Friday to formally ask him to halt the recall effort.
More like the Looking out for their own interests coalition even as the state crumbles.

Man I hate Davis.... but will his replacement do much better? I mean look at what you win if you beat Davis in a recall election.....

First you win a huge California debt. You win an all Democrat executive branch, and if you can't fix it forget reelection... gee such a prize....

Davis should be glad the supreme court ruled for gay sex.. cause he stuck it up every single Californians arse...
