ok, i'm annoyed with the columbia housing office. i submitted my housing application back in april (the deadline was may 1 - i actually submitted the housing application before i committed to attend there).
i wait forever and ever to hear something from them. finally, they say we should find out starting june 16. june comes and goes......nothing. finally, i get an email today saying that i've been "approved" by my school (basically, i guess the law school FINALLY certified that i'm eligible for university housing). so now they're telling me i should hear something by july 23. JULY 23?!??!! i need to move in the first week or two of august, and as of right now, i don't know if i'll be in a single, with a roommate, in a 300 sq.ft. dump, or what. i'm trying to schedule movers and get quotes and i don't know a.) how much i'm going to be packing or b.) where i'm moving to. july 23 is just a crazy-late date to find out where i'm living. the other thing that sucks is that i know other people have already started getting their housing assignments. which means that the chances of getting a good apt (ie a single) are probably extremely slim now. bastards ![]() Last edited by whitak24 : 07-21-2003 at 04:42 PM. |

I would try to contact the housing office and tell them that you need this information so that you can make arrangements for your move. If that doesnt work, you might want to look into an apt or something.
In all reality, that is probably going to be much more condusive to studying in lawschool since you wont be bothered by all of the undergrad activities (I am assuming its not a special housing for the law school)

update!
i finally got my assignment today. i got an efficiency on w. 112th, which means i'll be living alone (my preferred outcome). plus, i'll basically be across the street from the cathedral of st. john the divine, so that's some nice scenery. now, for the packing/moving decisions...... ![]() |
