Angry Dell Rebates - Always a Problem

Anyone else having problems with Dell Rebates?

This is my second time dealing with rebates from Dell... and the second time I've had problems.

I am beginning to HATE mail-in rebates with a passion. It almost never goes smoothly and it really seems like a scam. I almost never get my rebates unless I complain. Only after complaining do they fulfill their requirements.

I purchased 5 PowerEdge 600SC servers from Dell, each with a $100 rebate. They sent me a check for $100. Hello! Where's the other $400? Sorry sir, we don't have a record of a $400 rebate for you. No kidding! It was a $500 rebate!

So now I had to fax them my original rebate submission form and packing slip. The funny thing is, when I submitted my original rebate, I wrote in big red letters in multiple places on the documents: "QUANTITY OF 5. 5 X $100 = $500."

I guess they can't read.

Never had a problem with Dell, or any other rebate, that a phone call couldn't solve.

I've probably received a total of 12 rebates from Dell over the last 24 months and never had a single glitch.

Good luck!

I've always had a problem getting my rebates from Dell!

It is the only problem I have with Dell. My computer rebate took 14 weeks to get. I called at 10 weeks and had to complain and the supervisor told me it was down on the floor and I would have wait for it. Now it's 16 weeks and I'm still waiting for my Axim rebate. I hate rebates!!!

While I would definitely prefer to get instant discounts, I don't mind the rebates and have never missed a rebate from Dell. I have submitted DOZENS of rebates to them and have only had to call about 2.

I still got them and can't complain.

I'm having the same problem, I purchased two 2350's with $150 mail-in each, and they just sent me a check for $150. I even Highlighted the place on the invoice that said 2 $150 mail in rebates. I then went to Rebates.com to submit a request, stating that I should have recieved $300 instead of $150, and the response was, "We sent check# xxxxx on 8/27 please allow 45 days to recieve it. That's the check I recieved. Any advice on how to proceed? They haven't called me, or given me a number to call.

I bought a 8200 back in November that had 3 rebates. 2 went through, and one bounced. When I contacted the rebate people (mine was through rebatestatus.com, not rebates.com, and they sent me a rejection postcard with a phone number on it), they told me to talk to Dell, and gave me a number to call. When I contacted Dell, they said they were having technical probs with a bunch of rebates and would fill out some "rebate escalation form" for me. Nothing. Basically, I called back once a month to ask for a status. Each time, the person I talked to wondered why the previous person did that, or filled out that form, or whatever. Finally last month, I got someone that promised to look into it and call me back within a week. She didn't call back, but a check showed up in about 10 days.

Bottom line, I believe the last girl I talked to made it right and was able to get a check in my hands in < 2 weeks. None of this 8-10 weeks BS. So, contact Dell directly, keep records (I do this mostly to remind myself when the last time I called was), and keep bugging them. I bought the PC in November, and received the rebate 9 months later. Don't give up.
