Yep, it's a wicked pissa alright. I've been trying to get good seats to see Blue Man Group, but all I can get right now are lawn seats! Granted, they are cheap at $20 a pop, but I'd gladly pay a bit more to have a closer view of the show.

Lawn seats for Blue Man group? Boy, you smoking something? Last time I went it was inside at the Luxor.

Then again, you might be talking about the Complex tour. My seats are almost front and center....third row back center...ticketbastich said I exceeded my time with the first row tickets. Hope you have some better luck getting tickets.

I really don't even bother with them. When I want to go see a show I just wait a couple days and get one from a ticket broker. I've been to quite a few concerts/events in my time and am now much more selective. But the shows I really want to see I'll cough up the extra $50 to get the good seats and make the expreience worth it. If it comes down to $25 for crappy seats and a bad experience and $75 for good seats and a good experience, I'll pay up.

GAAAAH!!!!! thats so fokin dumb! how the heck can they charge way more than what federal law allows them to? usually its 2 1/2 times the face value, but some of the tickets run for $225 EACH! thats more than 3x $55! and they want either 2 or 4, cant get just one or ay odd numbered quantity. anyways, its still a ripoff...

man, i REALLY want to see RHCP bad - ive been wanting to see them for over a decade now... see them play "give it away" LIVE!
im gonna try ticketbastard this whole week here at home, and at work (when im on breaks)...
if not, i may just give in and get those pit tickets from the ticket brokers...

Just be persistent and a ticket will open up. They always do. Sooner or later someone will end up with a single that they'll part with. And usually a little cheaper. If all else fails, there is always the parking lot. You'll find something there.

Chosen,

I've heard people have gotten pretty good luck going to the actual venue, and buying their ticket's there, and it's usually not even through ticketmaster..

Good Luck

Just a word of warning about TicketMaster. A recent column I received (see online copy here) tells about the TicketMaster "privacy policy", namely:
Quote:
By purchasing a ticket, or completing a registration form so that you are able to access a purchase page for a ticket, to a concert, game or other event on the Site, you consent (i.e., you opt-in) to us sharing your personal information with the venues, promoters, artists, teams, leagues and other third parties associated with that concert, game or other event ("Event Partners"). We cannot offer you a separate opportunity to opt-out, or not to consent, to our sharing of your personal information with them. Event Partners may use your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies, and may consequently use your personal information to contact you and may share your personal information with others.

i have found that first of all, going to an actual TM location can help you get a better selection of seats -- the people running the computers (if they're not idiot *******s) can usually pinpoint exactly what tix are available.

secondly, as nija said, go to the venue box office. they will typically be a lot more helpful and you can avoid the hated ticketbastard surcharge and fees. most importantly, the people selling the tickets will actually be familiar with the venue and will be know which seats are good and which aren't.

Or if you know anyone that works at TM, they can always help you out with tix sans service charge. Damn TicketBastard.

oh yeah, watch out about ordering online. I've noticed recently (mostly from some online pre-sales) they screw you twice. Once with their service charge (7.50) then a convience charge (for ordering online, which I've seen range from 1.00 to almost 4.50). then of course there is the venue fee, that you have to pay (1.00 to 3.00 IMHExperience), of course that's not all ticketmaster.. that's more than likely just Clear Channel

Why does it make me mad?
I bought
pennywise tickets for $10.00*2=20.00
now, had i gone to the venue, tickets would have been in my pockets for about $25.00 (after tax) however, since i bought pre-sale
20.00+7.00(convience)+15.00(service charge)=about 45 bux.

...
