free metallica concert!!

i just got back from the metallica/korn/kid rock/powerman 5000/system of a down concert at the kentucky speedway. yes, i know, it's 5:30 in the a.m., but I had to wait on the people that drove to get back to our car for like 2 hrs (friend comes back and says that he lost his wife, goes back to find her). the show ended around midnight, so we didn't start the car until after 2 a.m. the traffic was so bad going home that it took us 3 hours to drive 40 miles.

anyway, the show totally rocked, except for the fact that james hetfield of metallica was really sick and stuck in atlanta, so they played without him. kid rock and johnathan davis of korn sang lead vocals on most metallica songs and they did a bunch of other crazy stuff to give the fans a good show, e.g. using turntables in the song "fuel." hmm, interesting to say the least. however, because james was sick, metallica is giving a free concert on august 2nd for everyone in attendance, which means that you must present your ticket stub to get in. so if you came into this thread hoping to score a free show, you're outta luck unless you were at this show.

Is it just me or does "system of a down" suck? Sure, metallica/korn/kid rock/powerman 5000 have some good stuff. But every time I hear "system of a down" it sounds like some garage band whose lead singer is completely tone deaf.

system of a down has a totally hard-core rough sound that some people don't appreciate. i personally love them. sugar is a great song in my opinion, and spiders is more mellow, but very cool. just my opinion though.

Did you flick some extra $ at Lars, cuz I hear he's down on his luck and needs the extra dough. I am totally boycotting anything commercial that Mettalica does, they will NEVER see another thin dime from me.

DUDES!!! - Metallica is one of the only best metal bands around. No one plays louder, faster and harder then them. The New and the old Metallica will forever remain strong..
