I vowed never to touch a final fantasy since VII came out. I lost 100+ hours because of that game.

Cool. I'm not the only one who thinks so, then. I stopped playing because I got bored and I didn't the the "draw" feature. I did have some fun playing that card game though.

FF9 has a similar card game But even more variety as every card is different! Even the ones with the same monster on it

Um... FF8 wasn't bad. It was just not up to the "final fantasy" standard in terms of gameplay.

The story was great.

I thought ff8 was pretty good. I kinda missed the SD char. but it was a change and I loved the cenamatics
I agree the draw system was not that great but that allows you to stay alive during boss battles since a lot of them has cure.
I stopped play because while I was on a roll the had to stop for a while since no TV then I just got lasy to start agian
now playing Diablo 2 and legend of mana
I still liked Secret of mana (english or jap 2) it had the best ring system only problem was magic was way too powerful

Anyone remember Chrono Trigger? That game had the best story, and it had characters that could combine powers. And it was on a 16-bit platform too!

Oh my.. Chrono Trigger is my all time favorite RPG. I can't believe how many time I replayed the game. It has like 10 endings. After a while, you get so buff, that your stats become asterisks instead of numbers. LOL

Cool

I'm playing FF8 now. I've played through all the FF's except 4 (the one before the last jap-SNES game). Although it took me a real while to get into it, it is a really nifty system. It is very different than most rpgs, and I welcome FF9's returning to the realms of theives, knights, and wizards, but for now, ff8 is a lot of fun-if you make it to the 3rd disc and have enough spells to play with in the junction system.
