Several months ago I ordered an entertainment center from furniture.com, and when it didn't show up, I contacted them. They said it would be about 2 weeks late -- no problem. When it didn't show up then, I emailed them. Now, 3 weeks and a dozen emails later, I have not heard from them.
I have to admit that I'm very lazy and quit trying to actually call after I received a busy signal the first few trys, but it just doesn't make sense an internet company won't respond to email. Anyone else have problems? John |

I used to work in a furniture store. That sounds like standard furniture store business practice. We always delayed orders, but didn't really plan on it. Sometimes the furniture just wouldn't show up in the shipment. I know it sucks because if you cancelled and ordered from somewhere else it would take 2-8 more weeks. Whenever the orders didn't come in, my manager would avoid the customers too. Bad business practice, but he probably felt bad for unintentionally lying through his teeth and didn't know how to deal with it.

Well, just an update on my problems with furniture.com. I got a call yesterday saying they were trying to deliver my order, and when I called them, they say, "Your order consists of bed rails?" Of course not!
So, I actually call them, wait an hour on the phone on hold, and talk to a nice but frazzled person who said they are only an answering service. Still, no answer from any of my emails. Let me just warn everyone that furniture.com is the worst company--online or brick and morter-- that I have ever dealt with in my life. It's pretty bad when you can't even talk to anyone or have anyone respond to your problems. Has anyone ever had a successful order? Does anyone know of a number to them directly? Thanks, John |

find out what city they are based in, and look up the business permit. that will have a good contact number on it. it will probably take you a couple hours, but it will be worth it if you really want your furniture.

Well, I tried the number, but it is tied into the same message line as the toll free number. Thanks for your help, though.
Just an update: I finally got a message back from them that said it would come late August. It was the same form letter that told me it was coming in late June. And it only took me a month of calling and emailing ![]() Beware furniture.com!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
