Talking

I just saw this movie with my wife. So far, only Apollo 13 beats it for astronaut movies. It's funny, got great artificial sound effects, and makes sense too. I only had to raise the "Issac Newton Bogus Flag" once. It was raised almost the entirity of Mission to Mars.

Nice to see a good, clean movie do well at the box office. Support quality film making. Go see this one.

Ya, nothing makes more sense than 4 senior citizens going into outer space... oh wait, what am i saying? This movie made no sense. How can you say it made any sense? I just don't understand.

Cool

physics, my boy. Elementary physics. Seems like every other space movie had writers and directors that had absolutely no concept of Newton's Second Law, and the first law of Thermodynamics.

With the exception of the little "I'm on the moon" scene, this movie didn't violate it.

I'm sorry it didn't have enough blood, guts, and lasercannon-toting aliens for you.

Hehe, seeing old guys being decapitated by lasercannon-toting aliens would have been cool...

Every single time i go in that movie to check up on it (i am a projectionist at a theater) I laugh every single time the are in the shuttle. beause if you pay close attn. you will see that they are walking, not floating.

My brother is a foley engineer for a firm down in Burbank. He'll talk your ear off about how sound effects are tuned in Dolby now. A lot of work is done to make them travel over the channels at the right speed, range, and volume. Most movies just have the "something exploded...I think it was right behind me..." feel.

Newer producers are realizing that sound matters. (The English patient got nominated for an Oscar because of the airplane sound effects)
