Unhappy SS: My mom just passed...

Just found out a couple hours ago that my mom passed today. Completely out of the blue...She was only 57--no known health problems (aside from being somewhat overweight), no complaints of illness or not feeling well... My dad was checking his email awhile and went upstairs and found her on the bed...What an awful thing, to have to find a loved one dead...

So now we'll be heading home to Minnesota to do the things we all dread, yet are inevitable. I know my dad will be alright, but this is a shock to all of us.

That's how it was with my Dad, just out of the blue. It'll be 8 years this saturday.

Peace to you and yours.

when i hear things like this it makes me glad i had the 9 months with my Dad from his cancer diagnosis until his death. we got to say a lot of "i love yous" and share a lot of hugs that had to last me a lifetime in that short time.

sorry you lost your Mom and that it was so sudden CynJon. you and yours will be in my prayers.

Thanks for all the well-wishes... The hardest part of this so far was having to tell the kids that they lost their grandma. Kids are so resilient but I don't think the reality has set in for them yet.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts, I've got quite a bit to do for the next few days so I'd better get to it.

Cynjon, my deepest sympathies.
When I lost my Grandmother (the closest person I have ever lost) the thought that was most comforting is that people live on in the lives that they have touched. So you mother lives on in a lot of ways that matter, her beliefs, morals, her way of thinking about things. They were all pased on to you, your kids, and anyone else who spent any significant abount of time with her, in one way or another. When spending time with my cousins I am occational remined of my grandmother in how they say something, a gesture, or just their oppinion on something is exactly how my grandmother would have done it. And I know that she lives on in them, and me. The same will happen to you.

You have the strength to see your way though this. I know it's going to be hard. But have faith.

Good luck, my prayers go with you

My condolences. The sudden losses are the worst, but hopefully it was painless for her.
