SS: Rapid Advancement of Cancer
My brothers father in law has dealt with some form of cancer over the past 15 years. Mostly it was skin cancer that he would get, a very rare form of it. He would go to the UofM med center and get intense radiation in a booth, which would leave a large sore and a tan.
Then, they found penile cancer 9 months ago, which was removed. Then, they found out that he had growths all over his body with a very rare strain of Leukemia, which was 6 months ago. Now, he is going blind because he has cancer in his eyes, a MRI pointed out that he had some in his brain, and they believe it is in his bone marrow. I worked with this man for 6 months during my school breaks at the Post Office, he's a nice guy, but he is just being crapped on. Its pretty dang sad. LK |

CANCER SUCKS!
i do so hope they find a cure soon. and what really sucks is you can do all the "right things" and still get cancer while someone who is doing all the "wrong things" may not get it. i also feel that a lot of the treatments we have right now for cancer do nothing. most cancer patients are just guniea pigs. these treatments prolong their lives? i wonder how their lives would be without all the nausea, pain, and medications that only give them a few months, maybe a year? i know there are exceptions, but i think this is more the rule. once you get cancer, as your brother's father-in-law has demonstrated, it is always there hiding, waiting.... waiting to start up again, waiting to spread, and planning to kill you. the only thing cancer cannot and will not EVER be able to kill is human spirit. i have seen a man die of cancer and not let that disease rob him of his dignity or sense of humor. charity - if you have any money to donate, and i'm sure we all could do some, donate to the American Cancer Society.

I seriously doubt that a cure will ever be found. Cancer is even more complex than viruses.
But you never know, someone may discover a magic bullet in the future.
