ok. yeah. that's overkill for a freakin paperback. paperback is one reason i was happy to switch from bio to poli sci cuz i didn't have to buy any more hardcover stupid science books.

Buying the books isn't the bad part. The real rape comes on sell back day. Have fun with that.

My Sister-in-law, who works at SDSU informs me that you can get textbooks thru Amazon.com for less than used prices at University. She is told not to tell students this, as the university makes quite alot of moolah off of booksales. Check it out.

that is worth checking on

i still maintain that Universities PRICE GOUGE books which is illegal isn't it?
sure, they should be able to make some money off the books, but not ridiculously at the student's expense.

Just be happy you're not taking art classes of any kind. Materials are absolutely ridiculous.

Well if that's your aim you could probably get a nice prostitute for less.

I praised the days when I got half of the value back. Most people are lucky to get a quarter of it back. Especially if the text has already been used for a few terms and they are going to change it in the following term.

When I was in school I told myself that if they were going to give me less than 20% of the original purchase price back, then I would just keep the books. So now I have a stack of books in the corner that I might use someday....nah, they will just become history books. hahaha

that's why (if you have the patience) you sell the books online for a cheaper price than the used books sold on campus, but get a better price than the school's buy-back price.

Just dropped $350 for four books this quarter. I almost never sell them back cause i always think they might come in handy. I've gone through by old books so i'm familiar with them, and if i need a referance, what better source? Plus you get almost nothing by selling back to the school.
