SS: company internet usage rules being redefined.

The majority of what you post online is archived and searchable by anyone for years to come. Therefore, it is important you do not provide sensitive company information or personal facts.

Rules for Posting Online

* Posting to non-business related groups is prohibited at work.
* Posting to business related groups should not expose company information that can be exploited or used in damaging ways. Users should be conscious about their postings and avoid providing detailed information about the company.
* Do not provide a company e-mail address. Spam programs routinely "harvest" e-mail addresses from online discussion groups.
* Do not provide personal information such as telephone numbers, addresses, bank account information or birth dates.

If you have any questions or concerns, review the Internet Acceptable Use Standard policy or e-mail the Information Protection Unit.

I got a feeling I should stop posting round here ....
I guess I can still browse. and if I really have to, I'll remote into my home machine and post (like I'm doing now). but that's kind of a pain...so that won't happen as much.

You don't have to leave. You just should follow the common sense guidelines. Don't blab on the internet about where you work, what you do, company information, etc.

You can't get in trouble if you are following their rules.
