NSS: Yosemite this weekend!

My wife and some inlaws are flying out to San Fran this weekend and going camping in Yosemite. wOOt! I've been there twice before and am always amazed at how beautiful it is.

Anyone want to hook up next Tuesday night for dinner? We fly out at 12:30 am on Wednesday and will likely be back in town 3-4 hours before that.

I have always wanted to go to Yosemite. Everytime we drive up from San Diego to San Fran, I am always tempted to follow the signs and say the hell with going into the city.

I am sure you will have an amazing time. Out of curiousity, are you roughing it or staying in hotels and taking day trips into the park?

hotels? HA! i'm no [ahnold]girly man![/ahnold]

you've never been there? i live in michigan and this will my 3rd trip in under 6 years. you gotta go. make sure you go before the end of may when the rest of california gets there. the falls are no good either cuz the falls are all gone. this is a bit early because we'll be camping in 30+ degree weather. kinda chilly but that keeps the crowds away i guess.

Its 8hrs to San Fran from here, plus we have family and friends up there. Generally when we head up in that direction its a pit stop on the way to Oregon and we only have a day or two up there. My wife has told me that we will make a special trip up there in the near future. Unfortunately, I cant really hike anymore, so in my mind its going to be a _______ trip. Damn my bad ankle.

I miss being able to do whatever I want, when I want. No more long hikes and portages for me. Hell, I dont think I could even handle my pack with weight anymore.

that's the great thing about yosemite. you can just drive right through the middle of the park, getting out to look at stuff. you DON'T have to hike to see all of the waterfalls.

Okay...okay...I am convinced. I will have to take the wife to Yosemite, before I leave California next year. The pictures are absolutely amazing!

man...it was freakin' cold at night. in the upper 20's the first night. i only have a 40 degree sleeping bag. f.r.o.z.e. my a$$ off!!!

once the sun went down, we just wanted to hurry up and get in the tent. and then in the morning we just huddled around the fire until we could muster up the energy to go hiking. once on the trails however, we were fine.

nice pics Cheapie. Yosmite is an awesome place for sure.

what I am really surprised at is that you posted some pics of your wife and the normal "How did you end up with her she's hot" comments haven't followed I kid I kid. Just remembering a time when that happened.

Glad you had fun

Great pics BUT tent and cold are both 4letter words and just not working for me. Give me the river with nice soft bed, refer and T.V. Also that walking looked a little too much like exercise for my liking. We have a 38 ft trailer at the river(2 bdrm) and all the amenities. I am too old and lazy for the great outdoors. But did, when we were first married, go to Doan's Pond (sp?) in the Sierra's? for the 1st day of fishing season. Been 33 years little hazy on details!
I decided then and there it was the Colorado river for me.
