Good Technologies ( http://www.good.com )has released their MP3 player Springboard module for the Handspring Visor. This thing can only play MP3s up to 92kbps bit rate! And they want $269 for it? Hahahahaha Also, the MiniJam from InnoGear ( http://www.innogear.com/mj.htm ) will cost you $200 for 32 MB of MP3s! I'd rather waste my money on something more substantial, such as the 6 GB Personal MP3 Jukebox! ( http://www.thinkgeek.com/brain/bazaa...=3474&at=color )

Unhappy

I wouldn't hold my breath for the Jukebox either... it's got some things lacking in it too... such as the inability to create your own group lists (i.e. 80s, POP, Hard rock, etc)... the only way to do it is lable all the id3 tags for genre, artist, etc. BEFORE copying the mp3 to the jukebox. then you can sort as to what is in the id3 tag.

I know - I demo'ed (sp?) it at its launch in Sao Paul, BR.

Don't get me wrong though. It's a good machine (has about 5 min. of shock protection memory)

I was not saying that I was interested in buying a Jukebox; what I was saying is that if I did decide to waste my money on a portable MP3 player, it would be on the Jukebox because it has 6 GB, opposed to the 32 MB of the modules. For a little over double the price, the trade-off is quite impressive. Those modules cost more than the Visor itself! That's like buying a Mach 3 razor for cheap and then paying out the arse for blade replacements. Sheesh!

That's the problem with first generaton stuff - obscenely expensive and crummy feature-wise.

I remember waiting oh-so-anxiously for a decent portable/car mp3 player a few months ago... I had my sights set on the MamboX, and the player from Pine(?), before realizing that they've been pushing back the release-dates time and again, not to mention quietly deleting features from the original "specs". Anywho, I gave up and got myself a Genica from CompGeeks.com. The thing looks/feels cheap - heck, it's not even 6 months old and the paint has already started peeling!

Anywhos, enough rambling. Just thought I'd whine a little, since someone brought up the topic.
