I've recently built a system with a Soyo 7VCA, piii 733, 256 pc 100 mem, gforce2 MX, and sound blaster live, with a 56k USR ISA modem. The system works fine except when i use the modem. It dials out in Win 98, but fails to do anything in Win 2000. All appears proper in the device manager for both oses. In win 98 it fails to connect due to an "internal error". It sounds like it tries to connect, but doens't finish. I've also tried using an external USB modem, with the same error. I emailed Soyo, but had no response. Any advice? I've also disabled the onboad modem and sound to troubleshoot with no luck.

Are you using the newest drivers? If not, try that.

Angry Drivers a no go

I've updated from driverguide.com with no luck. I had it working in Win 2K after the install. It stopped working after I turned off the machine to reboot into win 98 and hasn't worked since. It appears to work when I use Juno to check email, but won't work when I try to access the internet, through them or other free isp services.
