Hi, Got a new computer and need to backup .. I tried to backup to "D" partition, but there is a glitch and now I need to factory restore so i can do that in the future/ In the meantime I dont want to loose all my files, mp3's, and system setup, including isp configurations, etc...
So, I got a space at idrive.. could also use any other one that is free if you arem ore familiar with how to do this on one of those.. But I dont know how to actually backup to them> Do I go from C and backup whats the code? Or the script? If I go thru the compaq it automatically assigns "D' partition and there is not a way to change that> Hopefully someone here can help? THanks in advance. |

you cant backup all of your files to an online storage thing you only have around 50megs or so.
i dont think you can backup your isp configuration, even if you could its not worth it, its so easy to set up again. if you really are having that hard of a time setting it up again you can just call your isp's tech support. as for backing up files just login to idrive and click on storage then upload then pick the files you wanna backup. you wont be able to backup everything on your hard drive. |

I use Xdrive. The only reason being that xdrive will allow you to upload complete folders, instead of individual documents like Idrive.
So if you used I drive, and you had a folder with 20 documents, you can only upload 5 documents at a time, which is a pain in the ass cause you have to wait there and keep uploading. But with Xdrive, you can upload the whole folder at one time. So basically you can save a lot of time. I think that you get 25 megs for free, but you can get up to 100megs free if you refer friends. Just sign up your "friends" with the 20 e-mail aliases that you probably already have... |
