WinME registry : (

Somehow whenever the registry checker show up in the star up says something wrong with my registry and want to fix it then restart. After the restart it seens it just delete all the registry ~~ Does anyone have porblem like that, too? @@

And for backing up the registry which files do you back up? @@

well, I would admit that my machine is overclocked, but not that much. From a celeron 733mhz to about 800mhz with an Alpha pep66, so I don't really think the overclock is the issue. So far I'm blaming winME. I disabled the autorun of scanregistry or end task whenever registry checker pop up.

as for backup the registry by regedit. I don't think I seethe backup feature in regedit, but I see import and export, so I suppose I just export all of them to the designate filename I want, then later on when I want to restore them I just import all of them back.

I did this before and it worked for me. My registry was corrupt in winME, so i booted into DOS and then started winME (typed windows at the command prompt). It automatically detected that I had registry errors and then loaded up one that was good. When I was back in WinMe however, a lot of programs ran as if it was the first time running.

chosenfool: thanx for the input for registries ^^ I think i'll try to tune the voltage of the cpu up a bit, because I was running it on the default voltage. ~~ Hope that'll make some different.

StonedWheat: That happened to me once before, too, that I was trying to running some DOS program and when I go back to WinME it says the registry is broken, so it restores or repair the registry, then the whole registry is gone as first time you start the computer! ~~ That's why you always have a BackUp!! ~~ which I forgot or didn't know which one. So, just run regedit and export all to a file!
