My friend just got a new computer, from one of these businesses that customizes the computer you want. The HD that he got has no OS on it, but he wants to put win2k on it. Is there any way that I can make him a boot disk using my computer, which is running winME? Or is there some software that I can download for free?
If not, I know they sell boot disks for like $10. Thanks!

if you have win2k on cd you can just boot right off the cd. If you really want to make a boot disk open "my computer" go to the "control panel" and double click on "add/remove programs" there is a tab on the window for making boot disks.

Have you already tried booting from the cd itself.

The Win2k cd is bootable. Go into the bios and have it detect the CD-ROM. Then change the boot from first option so that the CD-ROM boots first.

damn whippersnappers getting here first :/

Thumbs up

If you HAVE to have a boot disk, you can make them from the CD. There is an application X:\bookdisk\makeboot.exe. Run that if you can from any other OS, or if can get your hands on a WIN98 boot disk you can create them once you boot from that b/c it will load the CDROM drivers. Just point to the right drive.
