WIN2k & CD-R problems... not detecting the drive as a recorder...

I bought the IOMEGA 12x4x32 or whatever it is.. burnproof... from the staples deal a couple of weeks back...

i popped the sucker in.. no problems... under WINME... i burned some CD's... there was some chaos with the buffer.. it kept on dropping like crazy... but.. i could still burn 650 megs in about 8 minutes no problem...

i started to have some problems with WINME.. it kept on freezing.. giving me IE errors... i tried reinstalling.. but no worky...

so.. i decided to install win2k.. a bunch of friends told me it was stable as hell.. so i gave it a shot...

everything works GREAT... better than under WINME.. i get NO problems.. except when i try to play NFL BLITZ....

so.. i want to burn a cd... right? i install adaptec all over again... and BLAM... it can't detect a CD-R drive on my computer....

i install CDRwin... and that can't detect a recorder either....

any suggestions?

i tried installing the adaptec that came with the iomega drive... but that didn't work either.....

adaptec easy-cd creator deluxe v4.05 does NOT work...

cdr-win not sure what version.. does NOT work...NTI cd-maker 2000 DOES work...

i could care less about adaptec.. cau NTI is just as good.. if not better....

but i have some BIN files i want to burn that can only be done with CDRWIN......

i installed ASPI & ASPI32 as per suggestion from a friend of mine.. this is a ext file of the info... hopefully it will be of some use to somebody!

have you tried http://www.roxio.com and check the versions or upgrades for your cdr.

But you might want to try Easy CD creator 5.0 platnium its not bad if you install it correct.

P.S. If you are gonna go with ECD 5.0 Find it on the site prior installation. There updates that you need to install.
