I'm having trouble with my new system I just put together. It's freezing randomly in windows 2000
specs: athlon 1.2 256 megs of ram geforce2 mx 64mb card MSI K7T Turbo Motherboard 250watt powersupply 20gig hd cdrw drive. That's all I have running. It freezes, and also locks up on the light codes on the motherboard for onboard memory, which makes me think it's either bad memory, or the video card is over heating. Any opinions and ideas would be helpful. The only thing i can think of doing is getting a blue orb fan for my video card |

The first thing I would do is swap out the memory for some that you know works. Oh, and you're not overclocking, are you?

no it's not overclocked at all, havn't even had a chance to try yet, I think it's not cooled enough and there is a lack of air flow due to the fact the cpu is right behind the powersupply, i added another fan and i'm gonna drill some holes

I guess you can try running it with the case uncovered, maybe put one of those house fans next to it to see if overheating is the problem. Other than that, I'd go with Topane's reccomendation.
