Help with Zone Alarm please!

This is the firewall proggy my hubby uses. I tried it about a year ago or so and hated it. But, I decided I needed it, so I decided to try it again. For some reason, it keeps blocking my router. Not all the time, but like, it won't let me post on the forums. I can read and look around, but not post. Also, I couldn't download the Critical Update from Microsoft with it on (I just did a reinstall again. *sigh*), so I had to turn it off to do it. Very strange.

Anyone have any idea how I can keep it from blocking my router and stuff?

Thanks

Are you certain it is ZoneAlarm giving you problems? The problem with posting to forums might be related to cookies. Are you using IE6? If so, what level of privacy have you set under the Options? You could possibly be rejecting certain (or all) cookies. It's possible that another piece of software is doing this as well.

Otherwise, I'd take DarkFury's suggestion and get obtain the latest version of ZoneAlarm and see if that solves your problems.

Good luck.

Actually, it was the latest version. It wasn't the one I tried using previously.

And yeah, I checked cookies and all of that. It is some setting between my computer and ZA.

No biggie. I just uninstalled it and am just using my virus program.

is your router also a firewall? Then you dont' really need zone alarm anyway.

I think depending on the router, you can connect to it, and tell it to act as a firewall.. You can also designate certain ports for it to allow/reject. I just use my router firewall, and works like a charm =)
