Stupid question time
I lost my microsoft certificate of authenticity for Windows ME that came bundled with my HP computer. I want to use the restore disc, but I'm afraid I won't be able to use it when I don't have the number to type in when the mighty Microsoft gods request. Is this number stored anywhere in my computer so I can retrieve it before I wipe everything clean? Or am I totally screwed?
Thanks ![]() |

If HP was a smart company..your windows code should be somewhere on your computer. Depending on how old your machine is.
If not, you may be screwed.

Silly me...I mean physically on your computer.
Look on the side panel. |

You can contact HP at http://www.hp.com and email their support team regarding your problem. Either that or check on the back of your CPU and you'll see some serial numbers, depending on how new your system is.
