Crappy Nero Software

Ok so I had to get a burner because my kids took the good one for themselves..I picked up a PINE burner at sams and it came with crappy nero software-everything has worked fine until now-I went to copy a CD for a friend and I keep getting an error that says-path my be incorrect or database is corrupt. For some reason it's not letting me restore the database-any suggestions or should I just reload all the software?

Can't really help you specifically, but most people I know really like Nero (myself included), especially when compared to EasyCD.

I had originally picked up a plextar burner (on the advice of people here) it was never installed on MY sistem because the hoodlums immediately confiscated it for one of theirs...I got sick of asking them to burn stuff off for me so I finally got one of my own. So the answer to the question is NO-there has never been other burning software on my comp. I've never had a problem with burning either until I defragged the other day..now like I said it's telling me that the database is corrupt OR it could be the path is wrong..I think I'm just going to delete the software and reinstall it..it burns fine from hdd to disk, but from disk to disk is when I am getting errors.

I use CDRWIN from goldenhawk.com with a Plextor 14/32 SCSI reader. I love it! I also use a program called ENDITALL; It's a free download that stops everything from running while you are burning. I have absolutely no problems with direct burning. NEVER!

If you're not happy with nero...(I am)

...you might give CD-Mate a try.
I heard about it in these forums-it's a really slick do-it-all CDRW/MP3 program.

If youa re on IDE you can't copy on teh fly likeDF said. Gotta write an image first, which is what clonecd is great for. Its by far the easiest and best when it comes to cd to cd copying.

Obby...

Is your CD burner and other CD device on the same IDE cable? If so this will not work. Your CD burner needs to be on a different IDE channel from the source of your data, be it your hard drive or other CD devise.
