need to know Operating System
...or pickup a copy of Partition Magic (or similar program, but PM is the best for non-WinXP computers)
If you're running Win9X-partition using a program called "fdisk" after booting to a command prompt (best with a floppy disk). Fdisk is in your windows/command directory. If you're running Win2k or WinXP...use a partitioning program.

by the way...
...take a look at your signature line. You don't actually have a PII-*166* MMX do you?

Put in a boot disk and start the computor.
At a:\ prompt type in fdisk. it will ask if to enable large disk, say yes. Now press the number 3 and enter. Now press the number 1 and enter delet the c drive that you have thier, If you have a drive label type it in when it asks you and procede deleting it. Now press esc and get back to the original options. Thier press 1 and enter. Press 1 and enter again. It will ask you if you want to use max amount of disk space. Say no, and then type in ruphly how much space you want the c: drive to us press enter, bla bla bla. Now go back to the options again press that you want to creat extended partision. If it asks you to make it the amount of space you have left for the next drive say yes. Now set the first partision active. Now restart the comp and format both the partisions you created, by typin format x: at a:\. x= c, and d And instal windows. Sorry if this was confusing but its the best way i could put it from memory. |

wow...sorry to hear that, glagic
I figured it was a PII-266 or 366...but pentium 166...wow
Let's take a quiet moment and remember all those pentiums that have gone before... (LONG BEFORE) So...you're using Win98...make a boot disk and copy the following to it from the windows/command directory: fdisk sys attrib edit mscdex himem doskey format xcopy your dos CD drivers(from whereever they may be) and do what Spikeysash85 says Do note that if you don't have win98...you're in for several 2G drives |
