how do you block others from using your wireless network?

I have an SMC wireless router/hub. My sister's computer has the SMC wireless nic. I logged onto my router, and noticed that two of my neighbors seem to be hooked up to mine, or was at a time. I don't see them in my network (don't even see my sis's) through windows, but I wanna block those bastards out. Any clue?

And anyone with suggestions as to what I could/should do to their computers for stealing my broadband access?

There may be some security built into the SMC - check on the configuration page of the router to see if you can exclude certain machines or only allow certain machines.

This should help if you have WinXP.

There's actually a pretty good article in this month's (or last month's?) PC Magazine.

Don't have your router broadcast itself to the world. But it may be too late if your neighbors have already accessed it.

Limit access by specified MAC addresses. Then each time you get a new card or a friend comes over, you'll have to update the list. I think this is best.

See if they want to split your broadband bill
