Problems with cache

When I go to forums, the dates of the posts are often, but not always from about four days ago and sometimes they are up to date on the fist try. If I refresh, I get they are up to date. I know the purpose of the cache is to speed up going to sites that I go to repeadly, but for forums I want the latest date and the same goes for stock sites. How do I tell the computer to not cache certain sites? I have a Compaq 450, Windows98 and mostly use Explorer 6.0.

Go to Tools/Internet Options. Click on settings (for Temporary Internet Files). Change it to check for new versions every visit to the page.

i6s1, Now that you directed me, it was easy to fix. I would never have found it on my own. Thank you

Are you using Internet Explorer? If so, check out CacheSentry and see if it alleviates the problem. Good luck.
