Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix my problem with the icons on my desktop. I have win xp home and as you know, the labels under the icons on your desktop do not have a color background box like win me and below do... they just kind of blend in with the background. However mine have defaulted to that annoying color boxed background behinde the labels. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it. Thanks so much.

I'd suggest you check your Themes and Active Desktop settings. On my system, I have Windows XP as my Theme. I also have active Desktop turned off. And just for good measure, I don't have any wallpaper so that when I remote control my machine it's quite fast.

Here's what you want to do:
Open "System" Properties in the Control Panel (or right-click My Computer and choose "Properties") Select the "Advanced" tab Click "Settings" in the Performance section. Turn on the "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" option Click "Ok"
