I'm trying to make copies of my music CD's so I can keep the original at home and bring a copy to work so I don't have to worry about it being stolen. But every time I make a copy, half of the last song of the original CD is the first song on the copy and then the song eventually cuts into the first song (half missing) and the rest of the CD is okay. It's really weird. I've tried lowering the speed of the burn and even trying different brands of blank CD's. I think it's the software but last time I tried installing Easy CD Creator 6, it messed up the drivers and my computer couldn't locate my burner or CD-ROM anymore!
I have HP Pavilion 754n running Windows XP. Specs from Best Buy. The installed burning software is called RecordNow by Veritas but I can't find any information on it on the Veritas web site. Any suggestions? |

Re: CD burning issues - copying music CD's.

as far as easy cd creator 6.0 not seeing your burner, that is probably because easy cd creator didn't support your burner. Try using nero instead. you can get that for free at download.com onto the burning issues. are you burning on the fly (from cd drive to burner drive), or are you copying an image to your hard drive first? in any case, I would copy the image of the cd onto your hard drive, and then burn from the hard drive. if you are burning on the fly, it is very very possible that your cd-rom drive can't read the data fast enough for it to be burned properly. |

In the event that Easy CD Creator 6 doesn't support or recognize your drive, you may consider updating it from their website. Have you tried other music cd's to see if you got the same result?

Yeah, I've tried burning multiple CD's (at least four different ones) all with the same result.
I've gotten several suggestions to try Nero so I'm going to give that a try. I'll let you all know how it goes! Thanks for your help! |
