Help with IE windows maximization

Ok, when I maximize my IE window, this is what happens! I have run a virus check, but can't think of anything else that MIGHT have caused this to happen... What setting do I need to look at? or whatever? Please help! TIA!

Oh, forgot to mention that it is ONLY IE windows that have this problem right now. Everything else seems to be normal.

Is the problem the black box and or the part of your desktop showing at the top? A couple of suggestions. Reload your video and mouse drivers and clear the cache for IE. Some file may have been corrupted. If those don't work you can try "system restore" to a date previuos to when this started happening.

lol Sorry, the black box I just used to cover up admin forums that normal users don't get to see. The problem is yeah, there is a half an inch at the top that the IE window doesn't cover. Also, the bottom of the IE window extends the same difference UNDER my toolbar thingy at the bottom.

install spybot and adaware and run em. then reboot. could be just some weird spyware or just some weird glitch with windows.

I ran adaware. took off the few things on there (1 was my Eudora ad cache, some were something else that I see all the time, dunno from where, and 1 was Gator, which I haven't seen in quite awhile).

Ok, VERY strange. After rebooting 8-10 times (LONG story, am going to post another thread about it), my IE is back to normal. LOL

Thanks for the help. Watch for my other thread!

It looks like your running XP, I have been having similar problems with window minimizing.

In the future, removing these registry keys often fixes that problem:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\internetexplorer\Desktop\Explorer\desktop\oldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects
