Ok...does anybody know how to get custom ringtones from a PC to a Nokia 8390? I have an 8290 sitting here with a little cable that connects it to the COM1 port on the computer and I used to have this nifty program that would use its connection to send a ringtone to any other phone via the SMS messenger service but I can't seem to find it. I haven't been able to find a cable for the 8390.

I've tried other programs that send them as text messages from one phone to another but I just end up with an unreadable text message on the 8390.

Then there was a program that attempted to email the message to the phone, but basically just sent another unreadable text message. For some reason the phone won't recognize those messages as ringtones.

Anyways, if anyone has done this before and would like to enlighten me, I would greatly appreciate it. If it works, I'll send you free Mike N Ikes too

the 8390 can only get tones from direct transfers, it is unable to receive them from smart messages. You can download the nokia pc suite here http://www.nokia.ca/english/products/download.asp

Hmm. . . my mommy always told me to not accept candy from strangers. . . but free candy is free candy right? How about we compromise, you send me the bucks to buy the mike and ikes .
