Can you use bluetooth to surf the web?.. How about SD wifi cards?

I really want to get a Palm Tungsten T.

I see it has bluetooth, but I wish it had wifi.

If my PC has bluetooth, can I connect to it then surf the web on the tungsten when I'm at home in another room??

Do they make MMC/SD wifi cards like they do CF wifi cards?

I know they have a Tungsten with Wifi, but if I were to spend that much I would just get a ppc.

thanks.

I think the much smaller size of SD cards would make it difficult to do that.

Actually. . . there is this to come out anytime now http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=WLAN6060

also this company has one in the works

I haven't tried accessing the net from my TT but i'll try playing with that and my powerbook tonight I'll let you know what happens. Range wise I doubt you could connect with bluetooth from another room unless if you have a really strong output bluetooth access point. My range on my 12" bluetooth to palm is about 25 feet or so in a direct sight. I don't think it would do as well through walls. Anyhow. . . time to load up a browser for my palm and see what happens.

Ok, got to tinkering and yes you can access the net through bt on the tt. And it is quite a sweet thing. Yet not sure how often I would use it. Take note I did this with a 12" powerbook bt built in. . . not sure if it works in windows, but I'm guessing it should. So to answer your question yes and yes. The range on it won't be that far with bt but if you get one of those wi-fi sd cards, should be good to go.

My experience with Bluetooth:
I have a Jornada 568 with a bluetooth card
my computer has a belkin bluetooh access point

I could get them to transfer files accros, but i couldnt get them to use the internet, i tried really really hard too. I heard it is possible but support is always questionable. good luck to you, i gave up and went to 802.11 b, i love my pcmcia adapter.
