Question IE 6.0 SP1 on Win XP

I'm having some problems with IE 6.0 SP1 on Windows XP Home:

- When I try to "View Source", nothing happens.
- When I save images, it will only let me save in the Bitmap file type, even though the original image is a JPG or GIF.

Any ideas? I tried looking to see if there was a newer version of IE but I seem to have the newest one.

Would installing IE 5.5 resolve this problem? I used to use IE 5.5 on my old computer, which was running Win98, and I never had this problem. Does IE 5.5 support XP?

Do these problems only happen with certain sites? Many times, these problems arise because someone has taken the liberty of disabling source-code viewing or image saving.

Other times, your temporary internet files need to be cleared for this to work.

One tip, though: if the file is trying to be saved as "untitled.bmp", you can actually give it your own name and add the .jpg extension and it will save as a jpeg even though the drop-down box says bmp.

Happens to me all the time, here's the fix:

Tools -> Internet Options... -> General Tab -> Delete Files... -> OK

Talking

Thanks for your help, everyone! Both problems are fixed now.

Here's what I did:

- Changed the size of my temp Internet files folder to 5 MB. It was originally 3245 MB!
- Deleted all my temporary files.

Voila! Both problems were fixed after that!

Thanks for your help!
