Hi everyone!
I had a Dell 4550 with 2 partitions in the 60 gig HD. I recently used partition magic to remove the red hat partition since I only wanted to run XP Home in it. Now when I try to boot from the hard drive the LINUX boot loader screen does not appear, as expected. Instead, it just says GRUB with a blinking cursor at the end. how do I boot with XP automatically. Please help. Thankx! John |

Boot with your Windows XP disc and instead of installing the operating system, choose to use the Recovery Console. Once in the Recovery Console, type "fixmbr" (without the quotes).

Or 'format C: /mbr' at the DOS prompt will also do the trick.
